Joanne Morrell: Physiotherapist
APAM, International Classifier Cerebral Palsy Football, ParaTaekwondo, National Athletics and Boccia Classifier
Hours available: Tuesday mornings (fortnightly), other appointments available on request – please contact the administration at Unique Kids Clinic.
Jo has been working with children, and young people with developmental and neurological conditions, sports injuries and growth-related problems since 1981.
After a year at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, she moved from Tassie to the UK where a job at Gt Ormond St Hospital for Sick Children in London cemented her love of paediatrics. Jo has worked in rural, remote and busy metropolitan hospitals, including working closely with the community in schools and sporting and funding bodies.
Being an active participant in sport herself, one of Jo’s goals is to encourage children to participate and be active. Being competitive, if part of a child and parent’s nature, can also be supported and directed through Jo’s involvement as a classifier for the Australian Paralympic Committee, and IFCPF (International Federation Cerebral Palsy Football).
Jo has training in dynamic taping, resistance/support work including use of a cage, gait re-education, neurological assessment and many outcome measures (including NSMDA, AIMS, Quality FM).
